The Long Walk 2017

The Long Walk “We Walk Together” Free Community Event for 2017 will be taking place at Federation Square on Saturday 27th May from 1pm.
There will be a flag raising ceremony at the Swanston St forecourt where Aunty Gail Mabo will be assisting in the permanent flying of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags.
Our MC for the day is Joe Williams. The 2015 Wagga Wagga Citizen of the year has been an inspiration to many across the country with his work in the community, mental health & suicide prevention sectors.
You will also have the pleasure of hearing Artists such as Casey Donovan, Jayden Reid and the Soul Singers perform. We will have The Indigenous Hip Hop Projects take over the stage around 2:30pm.
There will be lots to see around Fed Square. We will have Arts and Crafts for the kids as well as sporting and cultural activations.
Michael will commence his walk to the annual Dreamtime @ the ‘G match at 4:15pm sharp.
We look forward to seeing you all there. We are incredibly thankful for everyones continued support as our mission to “Promote, Develop and Empower Australia’s First Nation’s Peoples” grows.
